We invite you to the:
TEEBelgium D0 conference
prospects for an efficient, sustainable and equitable economy
Friday 27 April, at the Royal Academies for Science and the Arts of Belgium (www.rasab.be)
Registration is now open - places are limited!
This is the final conference of the BELGIUM'S ECOSYSTEM SERVICES (BEES) cluster project,
financed by BELSPO and coordinated by the UNIVERSITY of ANTWERP.
Are you active in the Business / Finance / Agriculture / Environment domain and coping with biodiversity, sustainability or equity issues? Degradation of natural system functions affects all policy domains in different ways. Whether it are business risks and opportunities, externality costs, corporate regulations, degradation of soils for food production, social inequalities or decline of environmental quality,…we have to find a joined approach to deal with our degrading public resources.
Ecosystem services (ES) provide an innovative and rational way to use and manage ecosystems and biodiversity by enhancing efficiency, decrease risks, increase sustainability and promote equity in the economy.
The findings of the BEES project and this conference will give direct input to the future development of ES-research, policy and finance advise in Belgium as well as to international initiatives as TEEB (The Economy of Ecosystems and Biodiversity) and IPBES (Intergovernmental Panel on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services).
The preliminary program is provided here. Updates on the program, the speakers and special guests, will soon be available here
We sincerely hope to welcome you at the Academies for an interesting day of debates and a reception afterwards. Please feel free to forward this to any interested professional.
